The Azure Data Engineering team is transforming analytics with cutting-edge products, including Microsoft Fabric, Azure SQL DB, Azure Cosmos DB, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Service Bus, Azure Event Grid, and Power BI. Our mission is to build the data platform for the age of AI, powering a new generation of data-first applications and fostering a data-driven culture.
Within Azure Data, the Microsoft Fabric platform team builds and maintains the operating system that provides customers with a unified data stack to manage their entire data estate. Our platform delivers a seamless experience, governance, business model, and architecture.
The Core platform team is responsible for the main compute platform on which all Fabric products operate. Our service is highly scalable and available, making us one of the largest Azure services globally.
Responsibilities
- Design high-quality components in C#/Java, ensuring clean and tested code.
- Integrate Azure technologies for high scale and reliability.
- Lead the architecture, design, and development of features and solutions with excellence.
- Collaborate closely with Product Management and partner teams to design, implement, and refine chosen solutions.
- Review and contribute to specifications and implementations by team members.
- Provide technical leadership across features, projects, service fundamentals, and tools.
- Mentor new engineers, facilitating their integration into the software development environment.
- Embody Microsoft’s culture and values.
Qualifications
Required/Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline.
- 3+ years of engineering experience with highly scalable cloud services.
Other Requirements
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements, including a Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred/Additional Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, with 5+ years of technical engineering experience in languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
- OR
- Master’s Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, with 4+ years of technical engineering experience in languages including C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
