Job Overview
The Red Hat Global Support Services team is seeking a highly-skilled Technical Support Engineer to join their team in Pune, India. This role is ideal for individuals with excellent technical and customer service skills. As a Technical Support Engineer, you will become an expert in Red Hat technologies, particularly Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), as well as storage and cloud solutions. Your main responsibility will be to provide technical support for enterprise customers through online and phone interactions.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Support: Provide technical assistance to Red Hat enterprise customers.
- 24×7 Global Operations: Collaborate with customers around the world, which may involve working different shifts periodically.
- Problem Diagnosis: Diagnose problems, troubleshoot customer issues, and develop effective solutions.
- Customer Service Excellence: Exceed customer expectations by delivering outstanding service.
- Collaboration: Consult with in-house engineers and developers to foster creative solutions and enhance customer satisfaction.
- Knowledge Contribution: Contribute to the global Red Hat knowledge management system while resolving customer issues.
Qualifications
- Experience: A minimum of 3 years of Linux experience in the enterprise sector, with strong administration skills.
- Technical Knowledge: In-depth understanding of the Linux kernel, networking, and memory management.
- Troubleshooting Skills: Excellent problem-solving abilities and a passion for investigation.
- Customer-Centric Focus: Ability to handle conflicting priorities, take initiative, and maintain a customer-centric approach.
