The Special Clouds team is on the lookout for a Software Engineer II who is dedicated to driving modern engineering systems. Key Responsibilities
- Understand User Requirements: Collaborate with stakeholders to gather user requirements for features. Utilize feedback channels to refine designs and solutions based on customer insights and metrics.
- Design: Participate in product architecture processes, contribute to design documents, and ensure compliance with security requirements. Own solution architecture under technical leadership.
- Coding: Develop and implement code for products and services, ensuring it is maintainable and adheres to coding standards. Engage in code reviews and apply feedback for continuous improvement.
- Implement: Review work items, estimate project timelines, and break down larger tasks into manageable components. Conduct experiments to assess feature effectiveness.
- Reliability and Supportability: Maintain live service operations and troubleshoot issues on a rotational basis. Act as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) to monitor and address service performance.
- Engineering Excellence: Share knowledge, identify tool gaps, and contribute to automation efforts for complex product features. Ensure compliance with security and privacy standards.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field with 4+ years of technical engineering experience in coding (languages: C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, Python) or equivalent experience.
- 4+ years of experience in cloud technologies (Azure, AWS, Kubernetes, etc.).
Preferred:
- Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field with 2+ years of technical engineering experience.
- Experience working with distributed teams and complex software services at internet scale.
