The Opportunity
Join our exceptional team at Adobe as a Senior Software Engineer in San Jose, CA. In this role, you will contribute to outstanding digital experiences by building powerful solutions that drive efficiency and success for our internal teams. You will collaborate with a versatile group of engineers to develop flawless tools and systems that empower our colleagues to excel.
What You’ll Do
- Develop and Maintain: Build and maintain backend systems that interact with cloud providers (Azure and AWS) and various internal and external services.
- Lead Agile Development: Lead and contribute to Agile development processes, ensuring timely and high-quality deliverables.
- Collaborate: Work with a team of 25 engineers across multiple time zones to craft, build, and optimize internal-facing tools.
- Implement APIs: Ensure APIs meet robust performance and security standards through implementation and improvement.
- Solve Complex Problems: Utilize your expertise in Java and cloud development to solve complex problems and build scalable solutions.
- Mentorship: Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Apply DevOps Practices: Enhance the deployment and monitoring of our systems for smooth and efficient operations.
What You Need to Succeed
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Experience: 5-10 years of relevant experience or equivalent.
- Java Expertise: Proven expertise in Java development and deep cloud development experience with Azure and/or AWS.
- DevOps Knowledge: Extensive DevOps experience with a detailed understanding of deployment and monitoring practices in cloud-based software.
- Additional Skills: Experience with Chef, API development, and Python is very useful; front-end development experience and familiarity with Adobe AEM are also beneficial.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Outstanding problem-solving skills and a proven ability to implement ambitious projects successfully.
- Agile Methodologies: Familiarity with Agile methodologies and effective collaboration within diverse, distributed teams.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, with a determination to drive projects to successful completion.
Compensation and Benefits
Adobe’s compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, with pay ranging from $124,000 to $234,200 annually for this position. Pay varies based on work location and job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Your recruiter will provide more specific salary range details during the hiring process.
For sales roles, starting salaries are expressed as total target compensation (TTC = base + commission), while non-sales roles are expressed as base salary with short-term incentives from the Annual Incentive Plan (AIP). Certain roles may also be eligible for long-term incentives in the form of a new hire equity award.
